Two reasons to celebrate!

If you happen to be lucky enough to know the group formerly known as the Super Six, you know that it really doesn't take much for us to plan a get-together that involves laughing, eating, and more laughing and more eating. So tonight we pulled together the best of our cuisine, loaded up the kiddos and headed to Emily's house to celebrate 1) the fact that sweet Miller will be here soon and 2) Jiggy's in town! So here's the Mama-to-be with our long lost friend, sharing a loving embrace over chips and fruit dip.
More than six years, three weddings, four (almost) five babies, three group vacations, and countless other activities ago, these girls and I started our lives as nurses in the PCCU at Vanderbilt. They are some of my closest friends to this day. I think that the experiences we shared there were things that few other people in the world can understand. Words can't really explain it, but we stood by one another as we helped God save lives and we cried with one another when some of our patients took their last breaths. I know that sounds rather cliche and a bit cheesy, but it's true. The things that we saw and experienced there have changed the was that we see life and created a real bond between us. These girls have some of the most wonderful hearts that I have ever encountered. They would do anything... and I really mean anything... for me or for any person that ever needed it. And despite the fact that we don't see one another on a daily basis anymore, we still share that friendship that hasn't faded with time or life-changes. These girls make me laugh. They really bring out the best in me. All of that to say that we had a great time together. We had multiple attempts at a group shot using the timer on my camera. You can see that there wasn't much success... Brax in front, Emmy, Kristin, Jiggy, Chitty and Bradyn, me, Trish and Brody...

And the next attempt...
Den-dog holding Brax, Jiggy, Chitty and B, Emmy and Linc, me, Bro and Trish

Lincoln and Brax have been friends since the womb and have only grown to enjoy one another more as they grow up. They are big buddies! I think that Brax is trying to explain to him what it's like to be a big brother. Although Brax has no idea what it's like to be a big bro to a baby girl. That will be new for all of us :)
I love Jiggy! She's been in Colorado for almost three years. And, although that move helped her to find the love of her life, I still think that she belongs here, loving on our kiddos and (eventually, Doug) rasing hers babes alongside ours.
Auntie Jiggy, everyone's favorite auntie. Here she is with all of her "nephews." Do you think that Miller will have enough guys to protect her or what? She'll never get to date! (Please note, this is the only picture that I got of Jiggy with the boys. I understand that this is not Brody's best angle. I hope that he will forgive me one day for posting this on the internet).

Lincoln and Brax decided that it would be fun to hang in Emmy's tree and antagonize her cat, Gus. Gus was not too receptive to their constant advances, but the boys did find that they enjoyed hanging in the tree. Poor Denmon, she must have a sore back today from the sheer number of times that she lifted Brax into that tree!

And I'll leave you with a few pictures of my boys with their doting "aunties." Bro and Em...
Brax and Jiggy...

Bro givin' some love...

And Bro gettin' some love....
Hope that everyone has had a blessed week! We sure have. It's been very busy, but we're hanging in there! Brody took a few steps last night, but it was purely by accident. He has a rather timid personality when it comes to this standing alone/ walking thing, but he's getting there. He's taking his sweet time and that's just fine by me :)
