THE STOCKINGS ARE HUNG......
Well, not our real stockings. Those will be upstairs where Santa will deliver the loot on Christmas morning. I'm waiting for my grandma to get Brody's stocking made that will match the rest of our stockings. Most of the downstairs Christmas decorating is done, but it was very hard to get a good picture of it all. It really looks more festive than the picture portrays. I have my Christmas dishes out, wreaths hung on the door, and lights and garland on every mantle. I have not, however, gotten my upstairs tree up and decorated. I had a little issue with the stand last year (as in I broke it when I took it down). So, I'm waiting to see if my hubby can rig something up before I am forced to go buy a new tree at full price.
I had to post the above picture because, as they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words." This is a common sight at our house these days. Brody screaming and Brax attempting to make him feel better by playing his music and shouting over the cries, "Baby, wed stah, boo stah, lellow stah, geen stah, puh-ple stah... Are oo okay, baby? (are you okay, baby)... Mommy, mommy, baby sah, baby sah (baby sad)." I must say that I prefer this scenario to the one in which Brax tries to feed Brody pretzels to get him to stop crying. Brody has become somewhat of a nocturnal animal these days. His prime play time is from about 2:30am to 5am. I am not opposed to sleeping during the day if that's what he would prefer... I can be accomodating. However, when you have a toddler who prefers the traditional sleeping hours, it makes sleep options a little difficult to arrange :) Good thing he's a cute little guy or I might be mad at him for limiting my sleeping to 3-4 hours on any given day. Now I know why my mom requires so little sleep. It must have become a mechanism of survival when we were little. In other news, we ventured out to the grocery store on Monday to do our big weekly shopping. It was raining and a bit cold, which added to the excitement of it, but it went off without a hitch. Brax didn't ask to get out of the cart even one time and Brody snoozed away in his little sling the whole time. We spent close to an hour in the store and made it out unscathed. It's hard to believe that Brody turned one month old yesterday. Time flies when you're having fun. As I was forced to stop cutting chicken yesterday afternoon, Brody screaming in the background because I had the nerve to put him in the swing while I made dinner, Brax needing help untangling his golf club from the Christmas tree lights that he had snagged on his backswing, I just had to laugh. This is what my life is about right now, my boys. And I'm certain that I'll look back and think that these were the best years of my life. I'm hanging onto that in the middle of the night :)

Your house is amazing...I didn't get to come to Bunco when you had it there a few months ago but it looks beautiful--LOVE all of the wood trim!!
I still want to bring you dinner--it's been a little crazy around here!!
I hope Brody starts sleeping better--I'll pray for you! Miss you!
Your house does look great! I love how festive you get! I wish I was there to enjoy it in person! We'll be there soon enough, though...and our boys can meet and we can chat! Eric and I were talking last night about how we wish you were here to drive aroud and look at Christmas lights with us! We miss you! Tell that baby Brody, his aunt sassy says 2:30-5am is UNACCEPTABLE play time! Hope you get some rest...I'm thinkin' about ya!
The house looks great! Maybe he will get his days and nights straightened out soon.
The scene you describe sounds JUST LIKE my house these days!! I'm glad to hear that someone else is going through it at the same time...it is like a mini support group.
