Showering Brody...
I spent a portion of today "bedresting" at my friend Heather's house (don't worry, it's only a ten-minute drive from my couch to hers) where she and several of my dear friends threw a baby shower for Brody. When they mentioned doing this for me, I was adamant that I didn't want another baby shower. I had just had four baby showers (one of which I was unable to attend :) when Brax was born which supplied me with everything I needed and then some! However, these dear girls would not hear it! As Heather said, "every baby deserves a shower!" So, they got some of our closest friends together to enjoy some great food and shower Brody with some baby gifts. My mom, Josh's mom, my sister, and my sister-in-law also got to be a part of the shower. It was so nice to get together with all of these women who are such a blessing to me! Below is a picture of me with the hostesses... Tara, Heather, Laura and Trish (and absent hostess Laura Essner who happened to be at the beach.)
Here's a picture of me with Brody's grandmas.... Mimi and Momo
Here's me with Brody's Aunt Abby... I don't know what we were laughing at, but it isn't the best picture we've ever taken :)
Here's me with Brody's Aunt KayKay (Kristin, or Aunt CaCa as Brax calls her). She's carrying Brody's cousin "whats his name" (as Josh and I call him since they haven't come up with a name for that child yet :) who is due at the end of January.
Once again we were blessed beyond measure. Of course with the gifts, but also with the kind words and presence of these women who are sharing the journey of motherhood with me. I wasn't feeling very well when we arrived at the shower as I'd had a morning with some worrisome contractions and was experiencing the "yucky" side effects of the medicine that I'm taking to stop them. I feel like I may have been a "Debbie Downer" at my own shower. I hope that I wasn't too quiet or seemed unappreciative in any way. To all of you who were there to bless me, I hope you know how truly grateful I am for all that you do and have done for me and my family. Your constant phone calls, emails and offers to help have shown me the depth of your friendship over these past few weeks. I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, so I'll post after that if there is more to update. Believe it or not, I'm also close to getting the nursery done, thanks to those in my family who know how it's been bothering me. I'll try to post a picture of it as soon as I get a few more things up on the walls. Keep us in your prayers... Only six more days of bedrest :)

You look great, Darci. But, I know it is hard to stay "up" when you don't feel great. So glad that you were showered upon by such wonderful friends. I'll be praying for you.
You were not a downer!! We loved getting to see you and just hoped we weren't tiring you out too much:) Brody has some great family and friends already to meet him...even though we all agree he should 'cook' a liitle more (if he'll cooperate).
I was worried about you at the beginning of the shower, but once your medicine kicked in you looked like you felt better:)
Your nursery looks great...And, I know exactly what we were laughing at...Brax's comment about your belly button :) Perhaps you need a copy of my picture. You can actually see our eyes in that one. Love you!
