We just returned from a long weekend in Ohio with the Belville family, where we enjoyed some beautiful weather and great company! While we were there, Josh's mom was gracious enough to host a birthday party for Brax. The guest list included both sets of Brax's grandparents, all of his "Ohio" great-grandparents (unfortunately Bobo and Poppie live all the way in Hilton Head), and Uncle Bobber and Aunt KayKay (Rob and Kristin). Brax LOVED his cake....
Along with his many gifts, Brax also enjoyed his balloons. If I could figure out how to post video from my video camera, I would have to include this one! Brax was down on the ground, wrestling with his balloons for at least ten minutes. It was hilarious!!!
Josh's parents have a wonderful house for entertaining guests. Their yard backs up to a lake where the men took advantage of the great fishing. My grandpa must have caught ten fish in half an hour! Brax also loved "fishing" with his own pole. However, that mostly consisted of splashing in the water (thus scaring the fish) and (unintentionally) hitting people with his bobber:)
Everyone was kind enough to humor me and pose for a group shot. Even Rob and Kristin's dog, Buddy, made it into the pic! Unfortunately, only half of Grandpa Dave's head is visible in this one!
It is so hard for me to believe that my little, tiny 5lb 1/2 oz baby will be TWO on Thursday. He truly entertains us on a daily basis. His vocabulary seems to be increasing by the day and he often surprises me with the things that he knows. He's still much more "advanced" in his physical development than he is in his verbal development, often demonstrating how easy it is to jump from one couch to another, or completely skipping the last 2-3 steps as he bounds down the stairs. Preschool has been an adjustment for both of us and I'm praying daily that it becomes easier. He has a tough time when I leave him in the morning and we have yet to have a drop-off that hasn't resulted in tears for both of us. I know that it will come with time and I have to keep reminding myself that he is 8-10 months younger than many of the kids in his class. We've been very busy and it doesn't look like we're slowing down in the near future! I'll post more pictures from Brax's birthday celebrations as they occur. I'm looking forward to watching him enjoy his parties! Thanks for checking in on us and I'll try to be more diligent about posting.
