The Top Ten Reasons that our Apartment is Better Than our Old House.... 10. I have approximately 1/2 of the space to clean (i.e. I can mop my kitchen in less than one minute... literally :) 9. I have a (usable) garage where I can park my enormous, gas-guzzling, global-warming SUV. At our old house we had a rather short garage, packed with things like the lawn-mower, which prevented me from actually using the garage. Now, I can unload groceries and let Brax run between the apartment and garage. Very convenient. 8. No Stairs!!! Not one single step anywhere!!! Anyone who has met my son, knows how much he enjoys climbing. So, with no stairs I have no worries about keeping gates locked, etc. 7. The fact that my large dog lives inside permanently (for awhile), rolling around on the floor and shedding hair everywhere, is of no concern to me. We paid someone an astronomical, non-refundable, deposit to clean the carpet when we move. Not my concern :) 6. Toy-free zone! Brax's (enormous, larger than the master bedroom) room is attached to the living area.... therefore, all toys can be stored in there! 5. In conjunction with number 6, Brax can roam freely throughout the apartment and loves it! 4. The office/kitchen/living/dining room are all one.... therefore I can have a conversation with Josh and/or Brax while doing just about anything. Watching TV, cooking a meal, writing this blog, even giving Brax a bath, we're all essentially in the same room. Lot's of family time :) 3. No yard, no maintenance! Josh gets some time off from his home "chores," which I'm sure will make him very happy! 2. I have a laundry room! My house had a laundry "closet" which was located in the breakfast area. I can hide my laundry.... YEAH! 1. Last, but certainly not least, our apartment is located within roughly a mile of endless shopping and dining venues. For a girl like me.... that's heaven on earth!!! I had to include some of our pictures from yesterday's adventure. Brax got his first professional haircut. Now, Josh and I have trimmed it up a few times in the past, but it had gotten out of control. He had a semi-mullet with weird pieces sticking up everywhere. Brax has been blessed with hair that is a beautiful color- one that many people would pay a lot of money to recreate. However, the texture of his hair is less than enviable. So, this is what we got.
Brax waiting patiently for his name to be called. We went to a kid-friendly place, which was horribly overpriced for what they did, but seemed to entertain Brax.
The first snips.... He is actually watching cartoons and sat very still for most of the haircut. I was amazed. He rarely sits still for more than five consecutive seconds. When we got there he looked over at the lady's desk and said "CaCa." Now, that means "Quack, Quack," which means Duck. Not to be confused with "CaCuh," which is "cracker," which translates to "give me some food." Once she handed him the "CaCa" and turned on the movie, he was great!

Yea! I can post again!!!! You forgot to mention on your top ten list that you can sneeze and I can hear you. We're that close! :o)
I'm glad you can be positive about being in a temporary living situation like you are. I do not handle things like that very well, and I can only imagine how hard it would be with a toddler and all of their "stuff"!!!
Sophie has never had a hair cut, I get sad just thinking about it. Hope you are doing well!!
Wow! I can't believe that hair. It looks good. So, I take it that Brax's health is back to normal. Also, I was just wandering if your Spanish minor taught you the meaning of 'caca' in espanol :)
