Some Random Shots....

I went through and picked a few highlights from the past couple of weeks. We've been busy, visiting new places, learning new things (mostly Brax, not me :) and crossing milestones.

Here we are at the zoo. We joined the Baileys and the Campbells to visit the animals at the Grassmere Zoo here in Nashville. The above picture is not so great of myself, Brax, or the giraffes in the background. However, it is the only picture that we took that day. Brax was mildly interested in the animals, but not quite old enough to fully appreciate the zoo atmosphere. There wasn't enough action for his liking.Apparently, Brax likes his animals to be moving a bit more. Here is Brax with his buddy Dallas at the Franklin Rodeo. Brax loved watching the cowboys, horses, rodeo clown and anything else that happened to run into his line of vision.
Brax clapped and laughed and jumped up and down in our laps. The rodeo was a big hit. He cheered so hard that, before we knew it, he'd turned around and fallen right asleep in Josh's lap.
I had to post this one for all of us who said that Brax would never crawl, but go straight to walking (which, I think he still may). However, he has gotten up on his hands and knees several times. This usually happens when he's trying to use his stuffed animals to pull up to standing. He tries to use everything as a prop to get himself into the standing position. He's been successful on several occasions!
I took this one last night. Uncle Rob got a new motorcycle and had to come show Josh and Brax. How redneck do we look with our half-naked baby outside sitting on a motorcycle? My favorite part of this shot is how Brax is screaming! Does this mean that my sweet boy will not have the unquenchable love for fast bikes, dangerous sports, and anything and everything that seeps testosterone?? Not a chance with a dad and uncle like his! (Thank you, Grampy, for these genetics :)

In other news, Brax has made some monumental developments over the past few weeks. He's really started babbling- DaDaDa, MaMaMa, LaLaLa, NaNaNa, YaYaYa. (In a side note, he always increases his verbal skills exponentially after visiting MoMo- coincidence? I think not!) I'm almost starting to believe that he knows what DaDa means. He says it when Josh goes to get him out of his crib, or when he wants Josh's attention. Like I mentioned above, he's trying to pull up on everything. He knows how to get onto his little knees and then get his feet up under him. Moving his hands upward as he stands still has him a bit confused, but he's working on it! We also had to buy a new carseat. Brax has reached the 20lb mark, and therefore the little SnugliRide was no longer an option. Being a cheesy mom like I am, I did shed a little tear when Josh installed the new carseat. How could that carseat (that absolutely dwarfed him as a newborn, by the way) already be too small? Unbelieveable! We also lowered his crib this weekend. I can't get too sad about that one because it should have been done long ago! Nonetheless, a little emotional because I can't reach him to kiss him when he's alseep. So, I think that summarizes the last few weeks in the life of the Belvilles. Thanks for checking in on us!

Wow! What a week you have had! It amazes me how many things these little guys experience in one week! Things we easily take forgranted are the most intriguing to them! Love Trish and Lincoln
