Today, we enjoyed a fun-filled summer day at home. Brax was so excited when Lincoln arrived at our door this morning to play for a little while while his mommy ran some errands. Brax's breakfast was left untouched because there's no time for stopping to eat when his friends are around. After a few minutes, Brax came down from the playroom and asked me if I would put up the slip n slide. Now keep in mind that he's never played on a slip n slide. Well, not successfully anyway. So, being that the very hot Tennessee summer has descended upon us, I decided that the slip n slide and pool might not be a bad idea. Well, they loved it!
Of course, being a Belville boy, a slip n slide set up on a small incline just didn't offer enough of an adrenaline rush. So, the slide was pulled out of the garage and set up at the top of the water toys.
Lincoln was a little timid at first, simply running down the slip n slide and splashing in the pool at the end. However, it didn't take him long to get the hang of it. They played outside for almost three hours!Brax figured out that if he ran as fast as he could, jumping over the stairs and onto his belly at the top of the slide, then the increased momentum would carry him all the way down the slip n slide and into the pool at the end.
As you can see, he had a blast!
So, after a morning of fun with Lincoln, Brax was forced to take a nap. However, after a short siesta, his friends Ben, Drew and Clay came over to join in the fun! Ben and Drew preferred to run and jump into the pool rather than go down the slip in slide. They must have thrown themselves in, creating mini tidal waves, at least 50 times.
At first, Clay was also a little weary of the slip n slide, but finally warmed up to it after he realized how much fun it could be.
Whew... everyone needed a break to rehydrate after all of that fun!
Of course, little Brody was just hanging out with the crowd. He loved watching the big boys play and was a little disappointed that I wouldn't let him play on the slip n slide too :)
I've been trying so hard to upload some video of Brody. However, I can't get either of my video cameras to work with this computer. Brody has been "crawling" for a little over a month and it's hilarious! He does this army-crawl scoot thing and he's gotten quite good at it. The kid is fast and can get anywhere he wants in no time flat! Now I'm wishing that he would do some real crawling because his tummy is filthy by the end of every day. He's also gotten another tooth. It's the one on the right next to his top two front teeth. However, the front teeth haven't broken through yet. Hope they do soon or he's going to look pretty funny with one snaggle tooth :) We've had a good week so far and are hoping the same for you and yours. Thanks for checking on us!

All Lincoln can talk about is the swip side and he needs his Brax! Thanks again for keeping him! It is obvious he had a great time!

Ok, too cute! But Owen will have to hang w/ Brody. I'm scared Brax may have too many "fun ideas"...although that slide looks way fun. They are so adorable, Darci!
