January 2011

Aaah, January. It started like this..... Two rounds of periorbital cellulitis within a five week period led us to an ENT consult, opthamology consult, and the news that Bro would need sinus surgery (stay tuned for February's update for the next chapter on that subject). It was not the introduction to 2011 that I had envisioned.

In addition, our January was filled with snow. Lots of snow. Much much more snow than in all of my years in Nashville combined. I'm not a real fan of snow or of being cold. I mean, when I decided to stay in the south, I though there were a few guarantees. Clearly, Tennessee does not feel obligated to uphold our agreement. Thus, another strike against January as a month and 2011 as a whole.... However, the kids did enjoy it (at least the first few times), so it did have some redeeming quality.....

We did have a visit from Bobo and Sharie and the kids had a blast!!! So glad we got to spend a little time with them.

We spent another snow day at the farm with our good buddies, the Blankinships. We rode around on the Bad Boy Buggy and threw snow balls at each other.

We celebrated sweet Caden's 3rd Birthday at Pump It Up....
And Trevi had an Italian-themed party to celebrate turning TWO!

And in case it sounded like I was being too hard on 2011, we experienced many blessings each and every day. We are (generally) very healthy, we have food to eat, we have amazing friends and family and a God who loves us and provides for all of our needs. I was reminded, once again, to not take anything for granted. Each day is a gift that we must live to the fullest!! Oh, and we bought a house.. that's exciting too! Stay tuned for pictures of the renovation. And that's January.
