November in a Nutshell..

November started off with a bang... literally! As many of you know, Brax's "bubba tooth" has been a part of his life for quite some time (see here). At the time of the original injury, we thought that the tooth was gone. However, a quick trip to the dentist revealed that it was, indeed, way up in his gum. And, for the past 2.5 years, it has been making its way back down. But, I digress.... So, on that fateful night in early November, Brax and Brody were wrestling and jumping on Brax's bed. A perfectly placed mouth-to-head maneuver caused the already-loose "bubba tooth" to catapult out of Brax's mouth and onto the carpet. He cried, we inspected the carpet inch-by-inch, and the tooth was eventually found. His tears turned to smiles as he prepared for his first trip from the tooth fairy. All's well that ends well, right??

In other exciting November-news, Poppy came for a visit and got to see Brax wrap up another successful soccer season....

Our Thanksgiving holiday was spent in the great state of Ohio... we loaded up the kiddos and headed up to spend the day with Josh's grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. We all had such a great time, being with Dave's family. We remembered him with a few tears and many laughs, certain that it would have put a smile on his face to see all of us together. The kids played so well and formed friendships with their 2nd and 3rd cousins....

We were even able to work in a little time with my side of the family. My mom hosted a lunch on Saturday so that our kids could see GG and G-pa and Aunt Diane. Here is little Ev with GG...

And last, but certainly not least, we spent an evening with my best friend, Kristy, and her two boys. My boys love her boys and I wish that we lived closer so that they could be together all of the time!

We rounded out November with the birth of my precious nephew, Joah Matteus Irvine.... at 5 weeks early (despite all of Abby's efforts to keep him put)!!! He was born with an atretic area in his small bowel that was found after birth and spent nearly 3 weeks in the NICU. That is a post all to itself... He is such a blessing to our family and we have so much to thank God for in his recovery!
And that's November... in a nutshell :)
