September 2009

Things are finally settling down around here and I'm going to make another attempt to catch up with the blog. Now, let's see... back to the beginning of September. We started off the month celebrating Brax's 4th birthday. We had a big party in the backyard, complete with a bounce house and lots of friends. He had such a great time, enjoying the attention that came with being the birthday boy!

On Brax's actual birthday, we piled in the truck and took our buddies out to the farm to play in the creek and ride the 4-wheeler. While we were there, we found 'Sheldon' the turtle. He was quite the novelty and it was decided that he would move in with Ben and Drew. After making the move, he went on a hunger strike and I'll leave the story at that....

Buddies in the creek....
In addition, September brought the start of Brax's first soccer season. The first two games were a little questionable for many reasons, least of which was a few crying outbursts from the little athletes. I guess they weren't too sure about how the whole soccer thing worked and were a little intimidated by the sport. However, as the season has progressed, Brax has grown to love it! I'll post some more pictures when I do 'October in Review' :)

Toward the end of the month, we took a trip to visit the Nymans of Rock Hill, Josh's Aunt Misty and Uncle Jeff! We had such a blast at their house. They are so special to us and we love their kids so much. The whole weekend was a much-needed break from the grind and we enjoyed every minute! Here is Bro jumping on the trampoline with Aunt Misty...
And riding around on Uncle Jeff's shoulders....
Misty and me, ready to go out for dinner with the hubbies....
And sweet Kelsey came home from college just to see us!

Karley is such a sweetheart and loved on the boys the whole time. She even babysat so that the "grown ups" could go out to dinner. The boys love her!
Of course, the boys thought that Kyle was very cool and loved riding his dirt bikes and playing with his cool "big boy toys"!
September was quite a memorable month! So, there you go. Hopefully I'll get caught up on October in the next few days. We have a new internet service since we moved (info on that to come), and my pictures download MUCH faster. That should help me stay caught up. Maybe :)
