He loves the new view and will bend over to pick up his toys, then pull himself back to the upright position.
Here he is watching some 'toons with Brax....
In addition, his first tooth has broken through the gum. It looks like there are several more that will be making their appearance soon. The poor kid has a mouth full of swollen gums. He has a great disposition despite the discomfort, though. He will have his six month checkup on Tuesday, so I'll post his stats after that. I'm betting that he's at least 17 1/2 pounds!
In other news, we've been very busy this week. My mom was in town to keep the boys while I started the orientation at my new job! Yes, I'm starting a new job on top of everything else. I'll be working a few days a month in the NICU at a local hospital and am really looking forward to getting back to being a nurse. I decided in February that I wasn't going to go back to Vandy to work in the PCCU. It was a difficult place to work on such an infrequent basis and, although it was a hard decision, I thought that it was best to resign from my position there. I still have mixed emotions about it because of the amazing learning experiences that I was given there, but I know that this is not the time in my life to work in that environment. I wasn't planning on working at all, but the more that I mulled it over, the more that I realized that I wasn't ready to completely "hang up my hat" as a nurse. So, I applied for this new position at a hospital closer to home, where my job will be quite a bit "happier," as a general rule. Most all of these babies will have good outcomes, which was not always the case with my job at Vandy. All of that to say that I'm excited about getting back to that little part of who I am. I won't be working much, but I think that it will be just enough for all of us :)
I don't have any new pictures of Brax, so I'll try to get some this week. He's a riot right now and keeps us laughing every day. His favorite thing to do right now is to sing. He sings us a new song just about every day. The words are never right, which makes it even funnier. Usually there's a lot of mumbling involved. I'll try to get some video and post it to the site. My last attempt at that, however, was a complete failure. Hope that everyone is having a great week and I'll post after Brody's appointment on Tuesday.
