Brax, Brody and Everleigh

I know that I have been very lazy when it comes to blogging. I must admit, it has been nice not to have much to blog about. I've only taken about ten pictures in the last two weeks! We've been busy with the usual things, but have actually spent a couple of days at home playing- all day! However, knowing that I use this blog as somewhat of a scrapbook for my kids, I thought I should update a little on each of them... Brody has started smiling and laughing and it's the cutest thing I've ever seen. That big toothless grin just melts me! We went for his two month checkup last week and he's getting huge! He weighs 12lb 7 oz (50%), is 22 inches long (7%), and his head circumference is 40 cm (37%). Not bad for starting off a month early! He has settled into being a much happier baby and has been known to lay quietly on his play mat, looking around and smiling, for up to 30 minutes while I put away laundry or clean the kitchen. I finally put him in his crib at the end of last week. He had been sleeping in a bassinet in our room, simply because I was too lazy to get up and go into his room to feed him twice a night. It was much easier having him two steps away. However, I think that he likes his crib. He's only woken up once a night for the past three nights. He even slept one stretch of 7 hours in a row the other night!!! I hope that I'm not jinxing myself by saying this :) He's such a sweet little cuddler. He's very active and loves to kick, squirm and "stand" when he's wide awake. However, he snuggles right up when he's ready to relax and I love that cuddle time!! We're enjoying him so much and can't believe how fast he's growing!

Sadly, this is the only new picture that I have of Brax. However, it's perfect for explaining what goes on around here on most days. He loves "pay-dough" and wants to play with it all of the time. He just learned his shapes, so he likes to tell me what to make out of the play-dough. "bue ciwcle, Mommy" (blue circle), "puhple tingle, Mommy" (purple triangle), and it goes on and on. He also loves to color with his "mah-kuws" (markers) and flatly refuses to use his crayons. He cracks me up with the things he says to me. I was standing up on a stool the other day and he came running over and yelled, so concerned, "Cawe-ful, Mommy!" He also loves to tell me that things are "tewwible." After I put him to bed last night, we heard him come out of his room. After I put him back in bed, I told him good night and started to walk out the door. He said, "Stop Mommy!" Then he took his paci out of his mouth and said, "Kiss you, Mommy!" I know that he was probably just trying to delay going to sleep, but it was so sweet that it made me get a little misty :) However, when we went to bed we found him asleep in the hallway. He rarely get out of bed after we put him there, so I don't know what was going on last night. Pretty funny, though. He's excited to be back in school and yelled "Yook (look), Mommy, School!!" when we pulled up on the first day after Christmas. He's at such a fun age!

We are really enjoying this stage of life and I don't think that these two boys could be any cuter!! We are so incredibly blessed! Thanks for checking on us. I'll try to do better with the picture-taking....
